How it works

1. Connect Google

Sign in with limited Drive access (drive.file). CV Optimizer cannot browse your whole Drive.

2. Set your profile

Pick a Full CV (facts), a Sample CV (layout and length), optional letters, and which sections to generate.

3. Analyse and create

Score each job against your CV, select the ones you want, and copy tailored CV and letter text.

Questions

Which Google files can I use?
After sign-in, use Google Picker on the Profile tab for three Doc types: Full CV (detailed facts), Sample CV (layout and length to match), and optional sample motivation letters. You can open a folder in the picker. The app only gets access to Docs you select (drive.file).
Do I need a CV before analysing jobs?
Analyse needs a Full CV on Profile. Building a tailored CV also needs a Sample CV (for structure/length) and at least one section checked under Sections to generate.
What does Create CV return?
Copyable tailored CV and motivation letter text for each selected job. Writing new Google Docs in Drive is a follow-up and needs write scopes.
Where does my session live?
After Google sign-in, the Cloud Run API sets an HttpOnly session cookie and stores your Google identity, refresh token, and Profile Doc selections in Firestore (users collection). The static site calls the API with credentials; Doc picks survive reloads and later logins. Analysis cards and generated CV text stay in the browser for the current visit only. Sign out clears the session cookie (Google refresh is kept so the next login can restore your Profile without re-picking Docs).
Why paste the job description?
Some job boards block automated page fetches. If Fetch fails for a URL, paste the posting next to that URL, then Analyse.
